Suvereto in a Day Tour
Suvereto is a small Medieval village near the Tuscan coast that is relatively unchanged by time. Its narrow winding streets lead to a great fortress with breathtaking views of the countywide and sea. Its churches and Abbey are modest yet charming. Here you will dine in one of the finest and most creative restaurants in the area. Even the Michelin guide has taken notice of this talented young Italian-American chef!
It is one of the newest DOC (Denominazione di Origine Controllata) wine making regions. Tua Rita, a family run winery was the first to put the area on the wine-making map with its perfect scoring 100 point wine, Redigaffi. Visit the winery and taste for yourself not only their top shelf wines, Redigaffi and Syrah, but also whites that are not even available in the US!
Then along came Petra, the largest winery in the area producing both traditional Sangiovese and international varietals in its ultra sleek designer cellar. This stop is a must for lovers of architecture and fine wine!
Ambitious young winemakers are experimenting with international varietals and Tuscan Vineyard Imports will bring you to the best! Barrel taste in a bio-dynamic cellar or at a family’s estate where wine-making is brought to a higher level!
