Tuscan People and Places
Our custom tours allow you to chose the places you will visit and people you will meet on your very special insider’s tour of Tuscany. Of course we will be glad to plan the entire itinerary for you. Browse below to learn more about some of the very best people and places in Tuscany!
Tuscany is the largest geographic region, producing most of the quality wines of Italy. It has many wine growing regions, known as “denominations” that are worth visiting, some famous (DOCs and DOCGs) and some that are rising stars (IGTs). Each denomination is distinct in its wine making regulations and therefore the same wine is not made in two different regions.
If you wish to book a private wine tour, you can freely choose your regions of interest, or we can make suggestions for you. Because not all places as close as they might appear on a map, please do not hesitate to contact me and together we can work out the best suited itinerary for you.
If you are not up to a private tour and are staying in or around Florence, join one of my fun small group wine tours that have a fixed price – You can even split a private tour with fellow travelers! You can check out your options on our web-site. If you need any tips you can write to me for individual advice. Whatever way you choose to participate in our tour, it is sure to be fun, informative, and enjoyable.
The wineries that you will visit vary from large and world renowned to the smaller, boutique family run. Wineries that we visit make excellent wines, many are organic or bio-dynamic. Tuscan Vineyard Tours offers you the opportunity to taste wines and discuss wine making with the actual owner or enologist.
The wine tours focus on wine, but we also make time to visit cultural sites, shop and taste local products such as olive oil, pecorino sheep’s milk cheese and Modena style balsamic vinegars. If you are really into food, you can choose one of our food tours that feature a cooking class and the best local foods or you can simply shop from your home for our food items and treat someone to our gift bags! We can ship to the States any of your purchases, including wine!

Carlo Parenti, A young man with a vision. Driven to the point of sleeping in his wine cellar when necessary. The words ‘Handcrafted’ or ‘Made by hand’ are so over used these days that they have lost their meaning. But not in Carlo’s case – he actually makes his wines by hand, and it shows. Come with us to see him at work or ask us how to purchase his outstanding wines. In the meantime, take a look at his website: Macchion dei Lupi
Diego Monelli, a great guy with a deep voice and a deep passion for wine making. Diego is a cool cat, dressing the part of a fashionable Italian man. Fashion may be an interest but his passion is his vineyard. Passionate about his craft, he makes wine making seem easy; in reality it takes an enormous amount of skill. If you want to meet the cool cat with the hot wines come tour his vineyard with us. Before you get there, visit his site at: Tenuta Poggio Rosso,. You can purchase his wines through Tuscan Vineyard Imports.
